I'm Susanna Marsiglia, an SEO, GEO and UX consultant. I've been doing this since 2013, long enough to remember when "optimization" meant something very different than it does today.

I got here through words. I've always loved them, and SEO turned out to be a way of caring about language and about how people actually find what they're looking for. In 2019 I added UX design, because the more I worked, the clearer it became that SEO and UX aren't separate disciplines. They're the same question asked from two directions: how do we make this genuinely good for the person on the other side?

These days there's a third direction. AI answer engines now read the web on behalf of the people using them, and getting quoted by a model is its own discipline: GEO, generative engine optimization. It's the same question again, asked for a new kind of reader. Most of what I write here is built to be useful to a human and extractable by a machine at the same time.

Over the years I've worked with companies like Groupon, Nobel Biocare, and SIX, alongside many smaller clients I've been just as fond of. These days my calendar is full and I'm not taking on new projects. But this blog is where I keep thinking out loud about SEO, GEO and UX, usually when something surprises me or annoys me enough to write about it. I also pour a lot of that energy into my own projects, like Zen Academy.

When I'm not buried in search results, I'm usually writing, out in my garden, or somewhere with a camera in hand. I live by the coast, which does wonders for all three.

If something here helped you or made you think, you can buy me a coffee. It's always appreciated, never expected.
